HyLand approached us with a clear goal: craft a brand that felt like home at first glance.
Sea Terrace needed to embody coastal inspiration while remaining approachable, warm, and quietly sophisticated. With an older demographic of retirees and downsizers, as well as younger families seeking connection to nature and walkability, the project had to balance timeless design with contemporary appeal.
Equally important was the context. Esquimalt, once overlooked, is undergoing steady revitalization. Sea Terrace is more than a place to live. It symbolizes a shift in perception, bringing calm and confidence to a community in transformation.

We drew inspiration from the sea itself. Clean lines, muted tones, and natural textures that echo the surrounding landscape.
Guided by demographic insights and The Hyland’s brand data, our creative direction was not about guessing, but about aligning aesthetic choices with the values of future residents: calm, connection, and understated luxury.
The design needed to stand the test of time. Approachable, elevated design became our guiding principle — luxury without excess, calm without sterility. This brand aesthetic not only defines the project visually but has the potential to inform interiors, signage, and community spaces throughout the property.
